ON THE FESTIVAL RADAR / PROGRAMME NOTES, NOT REVIEWS
Three programme choices with reasons to take a closer look. These are not reviews of unseen films or a live ticket list; check each organiser’s page for times and availability.
LONDON LATINO FILM FESTIVAL
Strawberry and Chocolate + Q&A
The ICA lists this Cuban film with a Q&A on 3 October at 4pm. Its account of an unlikely friendship in 1970s Havana puts film history and a live conversation in the same room. The reason to flag it is the programme and discussion, not a claim of a new viewing.
The BFI lists Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo’s film as a gala at Royal Festival Hall and describes it as a genre-defying queer epic. Its prominent festival slot and the directors’ body of work make its positioning worth following; this is not an assessment of the unseen film.
A craft-led alternative to a premiere: BFI names Ava DuVernay and Sofia Coppola among the speakers discussing their careers. Choose a specific talk and confirm its time and location with the organiser.
A short, source-checked guide to upcoming festivals, screenings and talks. Dates and venues come from organisers and host cinemas, not a live ticket feed; check each linked page before travelling.

2–6 OCTOBER 2026
FESTIVAL / Across London / ICA screenings 3–6 October
London Latino Film Festival
Its first edition brings Latin American films and diasporic voices to several London screens. The ICA programme includes Cuban cinema, shorts and filmmaker conversations; individual shows have their own times.
FESTIVAL / BFI Southbank, Royal Festival Hall and partner cinemas
BFI London Film Festival
The full programme spans premieres, competition films, talks and events. Check each film listing for its actual screen, time and availability; a festival date is not a ticket.
The Screen Talks programme brings filmmakers and actors into longer craft conversations; LFF for Free adds panels, workshops and family events. Event times and booking sit with the organiser.
INDEPENDENT FESTIVAL / Across London / The Garden Cinema 23–25 October
London Breeze Film Festival
Features, shorts and an industry programme across several venues. The Garden Cinema hosts part of the festival, so do not assume every screening is there.
DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL / Multiple London cinemas, including ICA
Doc’n Roll Film Festival
Music documentaries and event screenings across London. For a specific night, the ICA lists 7 Days In May: Mac DeMarco and Ryan Paris + Q&A on 3 November at 9.15pm.
Programme information checked against organisers' and venues' published pages for this edition. This is a guide, not a live ticket feed or an affiliation with the festivals.
